Website coding & design
We’ve worked twice with anti-bullying organisation respectme – first to create an online version of a toolkit they had created for schools and then to overhaul their entire website.
The toolkit had been produced in paper form and was used for a pilot, helping schools examine their anti-bullying practices and identify areas for improvement. This was a success but the respectme team identified that it wasn’t scalable to roll out across Scotland as it required a large amount of manual intervention – something that would not be practical with a larger number of schools. The team identified that a web-based solution would better meet their needs, allowing schools to complete a larger amount of the work directly and notifying respectme when their input was required.
After the toolkit subsite was launched, we were delighted to be asked to tender again for revamping the organisation’s main site. It had a lot of information but wasn’t easy to navigate and key elements, particularly around e-learning, weren’t integrated into the site. respectme had a strong palette and brand and it was an exciting project to be involved in.

When revamping respectme‘s main site, we made strong use of the colour palette with large blocks of colour breaking up content throughout. We worked with the team to develop a logical new structure for the site, making it easier for users to find what they needed, and integrating a sign-in system across the site for specific resources and e-learning modules.
The e-learning content was imported from a previous, standalone, platform, which means that going forward the respectme team will be able to update it directly to reflect any new guidance or changes required.
We also provided a reporting system that allows the team to track how many users have been downloading resources in particular categories.
We had already worked with the team to transfer the existing toolkit into a web-based format, building this in a custom system that will allow them to manage and update it going forward. It was based around respectme’s existing branding and colour scheme, which transferred well to use for the site. The system is deliberately designed to be flexible, allowing schools (or other community groups) to register themselves, add extra users, and start the assessment process, including through features like sending out surveys to children, staff and parents. It collates the results and presents these to the school and to the respectme team.
Text information can be updated directly via the site’s CMS, and user accounts can also be managed there. The system also allows the team to manage schools’ progress, marking sections as complete when they are ready to move on, and providing information on best practice to add to an interactive map where appropriate. The system also allows users to access downloads, which include assets such as certificates that can be handed out to pupils by a school as well as badges to show that the school has completed the process.
We built a detailed reporting system as well, allowing the team to access key statistics around the platform’s use.
Once the main site went live we were able to use a shared sign-in system, meaning users only have to create and sign in to one account for both the main respectme content and the toolkit platform.
They said …
What a delight to see our new website go live!
It all looks so clean and fresh, with such intuitive and easy navigation across both the screens and the CMS.
Thank you for all of your skilled work, sound advice, sharp eye for detail and, above all, great patience and flexibility in working with us to accommodate the extraordinarily tight deadlines and complex design features we wanted to achieve.
We are beyond thrilled that you have worked in partnership with us so well to successfully execute this key 24/25 outcome of delivering a transformational digital project of scale, on time, and within a competitive budget.
